What's the difference between the four paths?

Companies & media join instantly by verifying a business email. Creators apply and prove their audience (YouTube/Facebook 20k, X/TikTok/Instagram 50k followers). Journalists apply with a portfolio or student status, no follower minimum. Academics (universities, researchers, students) are verified by institution or scholar profile. All paths end with the same free page.

How does verification work?

Companies and media confirm a 6-digit code sent to their business email. Creators add a short one-time line (“Creator AVALW …”) to their public bio so we can confirm the account is really theirs. Journalists and academics share a link, portfolio, LinkedIn, university page, Google Scholar or ORCID, and our team reviews it, usually within 48 hours. Once approved you can remove the bio line.

Do I need a business email?

Only for the Company and Media paths, which are instant. Free providers like Gmail or Outlook aren't accepted there because they can't prove an organization. Creators, journalists and academics can apply with any email, they're verified a different way.

Can I use my own branding?

Yes. Your page carries your name, your display name and your posts. Companies and media publish under their brand; individuals under their byline. You control what you publish and can edit or remove your work at any time.

What can I publish?

Articles, news, announcements, analysis, research and blog posts, with text, images and links. Everything appears on your page and is distributed on avalw.com. We only ask that content is yours and follows basic community and legal standards.

How long does approval take?

Company and media accounts are instant after email verification. Creator, journalist and academic applications are reviewed by a person, typically within 48 hours. You'll get an email with a one-time invitation link as soon as you're approved.
