An 18-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing of a teenage boy aboard a transit bus in Mississauga, Ontario, in an overnight attack that left the young victim seriously hurt. She now faces several charges, the most serious of which is attempted murder, according to police.
According to Peel Regional Police, officers were called out at around 1:50 a.m. to reports of a stabbing on board a transit bus in the area of Hurontario Street and Watline Avenue. When they arrived, they located a 17-year-old boy who had suffered a stab wound, and emergency responders worked to treat him at the scene.
The teenager's condition worsened after the attack. Police said he was initially listed in stable condition, but his injuries later deteriorated and became life-threatening, turning what had already been a serious assault into a potentially fatal one in the hours that followed the stabbing.
The 18-year-old woman taken into custody now faces several charges stemming from the incident, with attempted murder the most severe among them. That charge reflects the gravity of the boy's wounds and the account investigators have begun to assemble of what unfolded aboard the bus during the overnight hours.
