Alberta RCMP's Rural Organized Crime Team has charged three men following a drug-trafficking investigation that spanned across southern Alberta. The operation also led to the seizure of a significant amount of illicit drugs and firearms, as well as a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette.
According to the RCMP, the investigation began after the team started working with multiple police agencies stretching from Drumheller to Red Deer. The collaboration was prompted by reports of multiple people trafficking drugs in and around the Calgary area.
As the investigation progressed, officers were led to a series of properties tied to the alleged trafficking. Last month, they carried out searches at two homes in Calgary and one home in Airdrie.
Those searches resulted in the arrest of three men from Calgary. The RCMP say each of them is now facing numerous drug- and weapons-related charges in connection with the case.
The investigation, which reached from Drumheller to Red Deer, drew in several police agencies across southern Alberta to act on the reports of trafficking centred on the Calgary area.
