President Donald Trump has unveiled detailed plans for what he describes as a massive new government building in Washington DC, claiming it will be "one of the most beautiful buildings in the world." The building, which combines classical architectural elements inspired by Rome and Greece, includes extensive military fortifications that go far beyond standard government security.
According to Trump's presentation, the entire roof of the building has been developed for military purposes, including a drone port that can protect all of Washington DC. The building is designed to be completely drone-proof, with Trump claiming that "if a drone hits it, it bounces off." The structure also includes "great sniper capacity" with 360-degree views of the capital from its elevated position.
The building extends approximately six stories underground, housing a military hospital, a ballroom that doubles as a protective shield, and various secure rooms. Trump described the underground construction as exceptionally complex, noting that "normally when you build a ballroom you build it flat" but this one is integrated with defensive infrastructure including missile-proofing systems.
The project combines elements of classical architecture with modern military technology in an unprecedented way for a government building. Trump invited reporters to examine the construction complexity, pointing out the different rooms and facilities being built underground. The building represents a significant investment in government infrastructure security, reflecting heightened concerns about aerial threats to the US capital.
