Bauchi State signs two agreements with Saudi investors after courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohamed

A delegation of investors from Saudi Arabia has paid a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohamed of Bauchi State to explore investment opportunities, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to harnessing the state's economic potential for mutual benefit. Speaking through an interpreter, the leader of the delegation expressed interest in key sectors, describing Bauchi as an investment-friendly state, while the governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors. The delegation showed interest in the real sector, including infrastructure, housing, agriculture and especially oil and gas. A day after the visit, the engagement culminated in the signing of two memoranda of understanding: the first providing a framework for the annual provision of Hajj services to the Bauchi State government, and the second establishing a strategic partnership in agriculture, mining, infrastructure, tourism and hospitality.

A delegation of investors from Saudi Arabia has paid a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohamed of Bauchi State as part of efforts to explore the investment opportunities in the state. According to the report, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to harnessing the state's vast economic potential for mutual benefit.

Speaking through an interpreter, the leader of the delegation explained what inspired the visit and the delegation's interest in the state. He expressed interest in key sectors and described Bauchi as an investment-friendly state, framing the visit as a step toward closer economic cooperation.

On his part, Governor Bala Mohamed reaffirmed his administration's commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors and to fostering strategic partnerships that would accelerate economic growth. The exchange was presented as part of the state's wider effort to attract investment.

The delegation indicated that the areas in which it had shown interest were in the real sector, including infrastructure, housing and agriculture, and especially oil and gas. These sectors were highlighted as the focus of the potential cooperation between the investors and the state.

A day after the courtesy visit, the engagement culminated in the signing of two memoranda of understanding between the Saudi delegation and the Bauchi State government. The agreements were presented as the concrete outcome of the discussions held during the visit.

The first memorandum of understanding provides a framework for the annual provision of Hajj services to the Bauchi State government. This ties one strand of the cooperation directly to the state's yearly organisation of the pilgrimage for its residents.

The second memorandum establishes a strategic partnership in agriculture, mining, infrastructure, tourism and hospitality. The agreements were signed on behalf of the Bauchi State government by the secretary to the state government and the commissioner for justice and attorney general, alongside the delegation, and the signing ceremony was witnessed by Governor Bala Mohamed.
