APC rally in Ebonyi endorses President Tinubu for a second term in 2027

Political leaders and stakeholders in Ebonyi State have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term at an All Progressives Congress rally. Speakers praised ongoing reforms at the federal and state levels and urged greater political unity across party lines, with the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum calling for stronger unity among Southeast leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Political leaders and stakeholders in Ebonyi State have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office. The endorsement was made at an All Progressives Congress rally in the state, where speakers praised the ongoing reforms at both the federal and state levels and urged greater political unity across party lines.

For many of those in attendance, the gathering was presented as more than an ordinary political event. Supporters and party leaders converged for what was billed as a grand rally in support of the president's re-election bid, framing their backing as a statement of confidence in the direction of the current administration.

The Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Hope Uzodinma, used the occasion to call for greater unity among leaders of the Southeast. He described a united political front as critical to the region's growth and to its influence within the wider national political landscape, linking that unity to the benefits the zone could draw from aligning with the centre.

Although he came from a different political platform, the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, attended the event in solidarity and stressed the importance of collaboration among political stakeholders. He told the gathering that they were endorsing the president and commander-in-chief for a second term, and said he had come because, in his words, progressives were working together.

The host governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, dwelt on the need for alignment and the consolidation of the president's leadership and development efforts in the Southeast region. The rally also featured the inauguration of a structure of so-called Renewed Hope ambassadors, running from a state coordinator down to local government and ward coordinators and polling unit canvassers.

On his part, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress thanked the Ebonyi State government for organising the event, and argued that re-electing the president would amount to a vote for continuity. His remarks tied the endorsement directly to the case for keeping the current administration in office beyond its first term.

As the rally drew to a close, party leaders and supporters said they were confident that the support expressed for the president's re-election bid would translate into actual votes when Nigerians return to the polls in the 2027 general elections. The event added Ebonyi to the growing list of states where the governing party has staged public shows of support for a second-term project.
