The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission has declared the All Progressives Congress winner of all 24 chairmanship seats and all 240 councillor seats in the state's local government elections. The polls were held across 114 wards and 2,988 polling units, with six political parties participating, covering the state's 11 local government areas and 13 newly created local council development areas. Governor Inuwa Yahaya, accompanied by the APC governorship candidate Jamilu Gwama, cast his vote at the Yahaya Umaru polling unit, and observers described the exercise as largely peaceful with impressive voter turnout.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, accompanied by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Jamilu Gwama, cast his vote at the Yahaya Umaru polling unit in Gombe.

Speaking after voting, the governor expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the exercise, as electoral officials screened voters and issued ballot papers while citizens queued to cast their votes.

Observers and voters noted that the exercise was largely peaceful across the state, with a network of civil society groups deploying observers to monitor the conduct of the polls and reporting an impressive voter turnout.

According to observers, the level of participation and the timely availability of electoral materials and security stood out, with some describing it as a notable improvement on previous local government elections in the state.
