Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued four kidnapped victims in Katsina State during ongoing operations against banditry. The operations were targeting a notorious bandit leader, Kachala Fulani, and members of his criminal gang.

According to the state government, the victims regained their freedom during sustained military offensives carried out in locations believed to be bandit hideouts.

The freed victims received immediate medical attention for the injuries they had sustained while in captivity, officials said.

The latest breakthrough comes weeks after security forces rescued the wife of the late Major General Rabbe Abubakar, who had been taken into captivity alongside the late military officer.

Residents were assured that security operatives remain on the trail of Kachala Fulani and other criminal elements operating in the area.

Authorities said the operations will continue until those responsible for the abductions are apprehended and brought to justice.
