A shooting at a home in Florida City early this morning has left a child wounded, with the case being investigated by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office. Authorities kept the scene sealed off as their investigation got under way in the southern part of Miami-Dade County.
According to authorities, the call came in just after 2 o'clock in the morning. Officers responded to Northwest First Court and 14th Street in Florida City, where they were called out in the middle of the night to what was being treated as a serious incident.
A child was taken from the scene for medical care. The child was first transported by ground to Homestead Hospital and was then airlifted to another hospital, after the call came in during the early hours of the morning.
