Six men are facing federal charges in connection with a kidnapping at the Margaritaville Resort in Hollywood, Florida. According to police, the case involves two victims who were taken against their will from the resort.
The abduction is said to have taken place back in May. Investigators say the two victims were seized at gunpoint from the parking garage of the resort, turning what is normally an ordinary setting into the scene of a violent crime.
The suspects involved are all young, ranging in age from 18 to 20. Despite their ages, police say the group was heavily prepared and acted with a high degree of coordination during the attack.
According to the account, the men were armed with semi-automatic weapons as they confronted the victims. They were also said to be wearing ski masks and latex gloves, details that point to an effort to hide their identities and avoid leaving evidence behind.
After taking control of the two victims, the group allegedly drove them away from the resort. The kidnapping then moved beyond the initial abduction, with the captives held against their will as the situation escalated.
During the ordeal, police say the men demanded money from the victims. They are also accused of terrorizing the pair, reportedly using a blowtorch and a pair of pliers to intimidate and threaten them while they were being held.
All six suspects now face federal charges over the alleged abduction. The case has moved into the federal system, where the men will have to answer to the accusations stemming from the May incident at the resort.
