Police in Baytown are investigating after a wanted fugitive died during a traffic stop, according to FOX 26 Houston. The station reported that the man was being sought on an aggravated assault charge when officers moved to take him into custody near Jenkins Park.
According to FOX 26, officers pulled the suspect over on Crosby Cedar Bayou Road on Tuesday afternoon. The station said the stop was focused on the man because he was wanted in connection with an aggravated assault case.
During the stop, the man refused the officers' commands, FOX 26 reported. The station said that instead of complying, he got into the trunk of the vehicle as officers tried to take him into custody.
