Six people were able to escape a house fire in Brentwood, on Long Island, early Wednesday morning, according to News 12.
Video from the scene showed flames shooting through the windows of the home as firefighters broke down the front door.
The fire broke out at a home on Stockton Street just before 6 o'clock in the morning.
Someone who lives in the home told News 12 that six people and two dogs live there.
The resident recounted her escape, saying she heard the fire alarm go off and jumped out of bed and grabbed the baby. When she opened the bathroom door, it was just engulfed in flames, so she ran to grab the others from upstairs to make sure they got out.
She said her sister grabbed the dog, and that thankfully everyone made it out and they were all okay.
Fire officials said the blaze started in the basement and that the first floor collapsed into the basement, but no one was hurt.
