A family in the Belmont section of the Bronx was terrorized during a home invasion in which they were forced to the floor at gunpoint, according to News 12.
Police say four men broke into the home in the middle of the night, then came back minutes later and fired multiple shots inside the house before taking off with thousands of dollars worth of belongings.
Exclusive Ring camera video captured the moment one of the suspects repeatedly kicked down the front door while another held tools, trying to force their way inside.
A woman who asked not to be identified said she, her husband and her nephew were asleep when they heard the loud banging. She said the men shouted that they were police, and when she opened the door they rushed inside, ordering the family to lie face down on the floor.
The intruders demanded cash, and when they could not find any, the woman said the men trashed the home, tearing through rooms in search of money.
About five minutes after leaving, the men returned and opened fire inside the home, with the bullets ripping through the walls and just missing the woman's husband, before they stole phones, electronics, wallets, jewelry, designer bags and other valuables.
The woman said she thanks God that her family is alive and believes someone was watching over them.
Police say no one was injured during the home invasion, and the search continues for the four men, with investigators asking neighbors to stay alert as the armed robbers remain on the run.
