A fire in the Bronx has left three people hurt, and early indications point to a familiar suspect. According to authorities, an e-bike may be to blame for the blaze.
The fire broke out late in the evening. It happened just after 10:30 last night on Third Avenue, in the Morrisania section of the Bronx.
Officials have identified where the flames began inside the building. They say the fire started on the second floor.
The injuries were serious for two of those caught up in the fire. Two of the victims are in critical condition.
A third person was also hurt, though not as badly. That third person has less serious injuries.
For now, the official explanation for how the fire started has not been settled. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Even so, one early detail has already drawn attention. Initial reports claim there was an e-bike on fire, the same suspected source that has been tied to the blaze.
