A fast-moving fire broke out behind a home in Far Rockaway, Queens, on Friday evening, with flames seen tearing through what appeared to be a shed on the property. The blaze took hold quickly, drawing firefighters to the residential neighborhood to bring it under control before it could spread further across the area.

The fire was first reported just after 7:30 p.m. By the time it was spotted, the flames had already engulfed the structure behind the home, and officials described the blaze as fast-moving as it burned through the shed at the back of the property in the Far Rockaway section of Queens.

Two people were hurt in connection with the fire, suffering what authorities described as minor injuries. Among those injured was a firefighter who was hurt while crews worked at the scene, responding to the flames that had broken out behind the home on Friday evening.

Despite being hurt, both of the injured refused medical attention at the scene, according to authorities. Rather than be treated or taken for further care, the two declined assistance after the fire that left them with what were reported as only minor injuries.

As of now, the cause of the fire remains unclear. Authorities had not released any information on what sparked the blaze that burned through the shed behind the Far Rockaway home, leaving the origin of the fast-moving fire under review for the time being.
