A 20-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a violent armored car robbery in Houston and is expected to appear in court for a bail review, according to FOX 26. Authorities have identified her as Dania Pope, marking a new development in a case that had already left two teenagers wounded.
Police say Pope's role was to help cover the suspects' tracks after the robbery went wrong. According to the report, she wiped blood from the getaway car used in the attack, an act that has now placed her at the center of the criminal case.
The robbery itself turned violent when an armored car driver opened fire. Police say the driver shot two teenagers who were the suspects, after the pair sprayed the guard with bear spray and then tried to rob him.
Both teenagers survived the shooting and are now facing aggravated robbery charges over the attempted heist. Their cases proceed alongside the charge against Pope, who is accused of assisting in the aftermath.
Adding to her legal exposure, police say Pope was on probation at the time of the attack. That status could weigh heavily as a judge considers her bail during the review scheduled for today.
