Houston retail theft suspect wanted after hit and run hurts teen

A 31-year-old woman with a long record of retail theft is now a wanted fugitive in the Houston area after being accused of a hit and run that injured a 15-year-old boy on a bicycle, according to FOX 26. Diamond Porter has felony convictions in nine counties and has piled up felony theft charges, including 10 since 2025, prosecutors say, but has served prison time only once. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to her.

A woman well known to prosecutors for retail theft is now a wanted fugitive in the Houston area, accused of a hit and run that injured a teenager, according to FOX 26. Authorities have identified her as 31-year-old Diamond Porter and are asking the public for help finding her.

According to the report, Porter is accused of striking a 15-year-old boy who was riding a bicycle on July 20th. Investigators say that after hitting the child, she rolled down her window and yelled at him before driving off, leaving the scene of the crash.

Porter is now charged in the hit and run and is being sought as a fugitive. Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information to come forward, offering a reward of up to $5,000 for tips that help locate her.

The case has drawn attention because of Porter's extensive criminal history. Officials say she has felony convictions in nine different counties and has piled up felony theft charges over the years, including 10 since 2025 and 19 since 2021, a pattern that one person following the case described as unlike anything they had seen before.

Despite that record, Porter has been sent to prison only once. That sentence was two years for engaging in organized criminal activity in 2021, while her other convictions brought far shorter stints, from a matter of days to a few hundred days, with a repeated cycle of guilty pleas and quick releases.

Investigators say Porter has focused on high-value goods, in particular expensive perfumes and colognes. In one offense tied to the theft ring, authorities say more than 200 bottles of perfume were taken, amounting to around $30,000 worth of merchandise.
