Houston police are searching for a gunman after a man was shot in the head on the city's southeast side, FOX 26 reported. The attack left the victim with grave injuries and the shooter still on the loose.
The shooting happened late at night. According to police, it took place just before midnight, turning an ordinary stop into a crime scene.
The location was a neighborhood market. The man was shot at the Cullen food mart, on the southeast side of the city.
Officers who responded found the victim where he had fallen. They rushed to the scene and discovered him bleeding inside the market.
Emergency responders moved quickly to get him help. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
By the time police arrived, the shooter was already gone. Authorities say the gunman left the area before officers got to the scene.
