A man has been arrested in connection with a damaged tombstone at the Huntington Rural Cemetery on Long Island, according to police.
Police identified the man as 31-year-old Michael La Rock. They say he fell and damaged the tombstone while running from officers.
According to police, those officers had been responding to calls reporting that a man was throwing rocks at cars in the area.
Police say La Rock also broke a window at a nearby dance studio during the episode, adding to the damage tied to the incident.
He was taken into custody and, according to police, will face a judge at a later date as the case moves forward.
Damage to cemetery headstones is treated seriously, and police said the arrest brought an end to the disturbance that had unfolded in the area.
