A Long Beach man has been indicted for killing a mother of three in Yaphank. Prosecutors say Michael McHenry beat and stabbed Julianne Bachman and left her in a Speedway parking lot.
According to police, one person witnessed the assault taking place in the parking lot. Another person heard Bachman screaming for help during the attack.
An off-duty police officer at the scene noticed the headrest of a vehicle covered in blood and found Bachman injured. The officer's discovery led to emergency services being called to the location.
Michael McHenry has pled not guilty to the charges against him. He faces up to twenty-five years to life in prison if convicted of the murder of Julianne Bachman.
Julianne Bachman was a mother of three children. The attack took place in the Speedway parking lot in Yaphank, Suffolk County, where she was found by the off-duty officer.
The off-duty police officer who discovered Bachman noticed that the headrest inside the vehicle was covered in blood. Bachman was found injured at the scene and the officer immediately called for assistance.
McHenry was subsequently arrested and charged. He entered a plea of not guilty to the charges and is awaiting trial. If convicted of the murder charges, he faces a sentence of up to twenty-five years to life in prison.
