A New Haven woman is heading to prison for a string of bank robberies in Connecticut. According to federal prosecutors, she will spend 10 years in prison for robbing three Connecticut banks.
Authorities have identified the person behind the holdups. They say 50-year-old Heather Brown carried out the robberies.
Two of the banks she is accused of robbing were in the same city. Authorities say Brown held up a Wells Fargo and a Liberty Bank in Waterbury.
The third robbery was in a neighboring community. Authorities say she also held up a Webster Bank in Bristol.
The robberies came in a short span of time. Authorities say all three happened in February of 2024.
The case did not go to trial. Brown pleaded guilty last year.
This was not her first brush with the law. Prosecutors say she also has a prior criminal record.
