An arrest has been made in a deadly hit and run that happened back on New Year's Day in Queens, according to ABC7NY. The break in the case came more than seven months after the crash that killed one person and injured another.
Police have identified the man behind bars as 31-year-old Jonathan Barbato of East Hampton. He is accused of driving off after striking two people with his SUV, an act that turned a holiday into a fatal crime scene.
According to the report, the crash killed a pedestrian and seriously injured a second person. It happened near 102nd Street and 37th Avenue in Flushing, a busy stretch of the Queens neighborhood.
