Seattle police have released an update on a body that was recovered from Holler Lake, a case that had earlier been reported as breaking news. Investigators have now provided more information about the identity of the person found in the water.
According to authorities, the body was pulled from Holler Lake at around 4:30. The recovery brought to a close an active scene at the lake as crews worked to retrieve the body from the water.
Seattle police say the body was that of a man who had been reported missing on Saturday. The recovery appears to be linked to that earlier missing-person report, connecting the two cases.
The Seattle Police Department said the man was 35 years old. Beyond his age, officers have not publicly identified him at this stage of the investigation.
Police noted that no other details are being released at this time. Authorities often limit the information shared in the early stages of such cases while the investigation is ongoing and family members are notified.
The medical examiner will now work to determine the cause and manner of death. That examination is expected to clarify how the 35-year-old died and whether any further investigation will be required.
