Seattle police are asking for the public's help to find a Lake City man who has been missing for more than two weeks. D'Angelo McKinney, who is twenty-eight years old, has not been heard from since early July, and his disappearance has left his family and neighborhood searching for any sign of what happened to him.
The last confirmed sighting came from a surveillance photo that shows McKinney leaving his apartment building on July 6th at 5:45 PM. Nobody has heard from him since that moment, and one of the earliest signs that something was wrong was when he did not show up for work at Taco Time, where he was expected.
His sister went over to his apartment to check on him and found further reason for alarm. Inside, she discovered his two cats had not been fed, and she noticed that he had left his identification at home. According to the family, leaving his ID behind was completely out of character for him.
His sister, Jasmine McKinney, described him as far more than just her younger brother. She said he is like everyone's younger brother, and very much a Lake City local, involved with everything that goes on in the neighborhood. She said he knows all the people there, and that he even helps out those living homeless in the area.
Family and friends have been posting flyers all over the area and beyond, trying to find out what happened to him. Jasmine said D'Angelo is her best friend and would never just vanish on his own, and she stressed that there has been nothing from his phone since July 6th, the day he was last seen.
Police have shared a description of what McKinney was wearing when he disappeared. His sister said he had on slippers with smiley faces and a yellow t-shirt that says Chelsea. He is six feet tall and weighs 150 pounds. Anyone who has seen him or knows of suspicious circumstances is urged to call 911, or the Seattle police non-emergency line at 206-625-5011.
