A domestic dispute escalated into an hours long standoff in Warwick, according to News 12. Police say the confrontation unfolded at a home on Airport Road, drawing an extended response from officers on Thursday morning.
According to police, a man in his 20s barricaded himself inside the home after a fight with his father. The refusal to come out set off a tense situation as authorities worked to bring it to a peaceful end.
Negotiators spent hours trying to talk the man into surrendering, the report said. Their efforts eventually paid off, with the man taken into custody and then taken to the hospital.
The father, who had been involved in the earlier fight, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, police said. The standoff ended without the more serious outcome that such barricade situations can bring.
