A state of emergency has been declared in part of West Virginia after a fire at an industrial warehouse near the Ohio border, which sent a thick plume of black smoke into the sky.
The warehouse is full of plastic materials, according to authorities, and the blaze originally broke out on Saturday.
Firefighters believed they had brought the fire under control, but it reignited the following day, flaring back up near the border with Ohio.
The renewed fire produced a towering column of black smoke, which fire officials said was detected more than 10,000 feet in the air.
From there, the smoke spread across dozens of miles of the surrounding region, making the fire visible well beyond the immediate area.
Crews worked to clear the area around the warehouse, and officials said everyone was successfully evacuated, with no injuries reported.
