Two teenagers stabbed outside Brampton apartment building, police hunt two suspects | AVALW News

Two male teenagers were stabbed late Monday night outside an apartment building near Kennedy and Steeles in Brampton. One was left in life-threatening condition before stabilizing, and police are now searching for two suspects.

Two male teenagers were stabbed late Monday night outside an apartment building near Kennedy Road South, in the area of Kennedy and Steeles in Brampton, and both were rushed to hospital. Police confirmed the pair were taken away for treatment after officers flooded the scene, and investigators are now searching for two suspects who fled the area. The stabbings unfolded in a residential complex where startled tenants were left trying to make sense of the sudden violence just outside their doors.

One of the two teenagers was initially in life-threatening condition but has since stabilized, according to police, while the second victim suffered less serious injuries. Both boys were transported to hospital from the scene, and their conditions were being closely monitored through the night. The severity of the first victim's wounds underscored how quickly the confrontation escalated from a street disturbance into a near-fatal attack.

Residents described a chaotic build-up in the moments before the stabbings, saying it sounded as though a group of young people had arrived at the building looking for someone in particular. A fight then broke out, and witnesses recounted seeing people striking parked cars as the situation spiralled. The commotion drew neighbours to their windows and balconies, several of whom realized only afterward how serious the altercation had become.

One woman who watched the scene unfold from her balcony said she called 911 as the fight erupted, describing girls screaming for someone to put pressure on a wound because one of the victims was injured, and then beginning to cry. When the crowd scattered, she said, one of the young men collapsed to the ground, and roughly five minutes later she noticed a second victim lying nearby. After the stabbings, the group of people involved is believed to have run away from the building on foot.

Heavily armed officers responded to the call, and a K9 unit was brought in to thoroughly search the area for weapons in the aftermath of the attack. Evidence markers remained on the ground at the scene, and a tenant's vehicle had been dusted for fingerprints as forensic work got under way. Investigators also noted that the apartment building is fitted with exterior security cameras pointed toward the spot where the confrontation and stabbings took place, footage that could prove central to the case.

Police released descriptions of the two people they are trying to identify, saying both were wearing distinctive clothing at the time. The first suspect was described as a male with a muscular build and a black goatee-style beard, wearing black khaki shorts, khaki-coloured shoes and a grey t-shirt with the word sleep written across it in white lettering. Officers urged anyone who recognized those details to contact investigators.

The second suspect was described as a male with a slim build and medium-length black dreadlocks, wearing dark green pants, black shoes and a black hoodie with 1977 written across the chest. With the security cameras trained on the scene and the crowd having fled on foot, police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information that could help the investigation to come forward. The search for the two suspects was continuing as officers worked to piece together what triggered the deadly confrontation.
