Halifax police are searching for a suspect after a hate-filled rant at a local Costco was caught on camera, according to CBC.
Officials said the incident unfolded on a busy Saturday, when shoppers at the store were suddenly confronted by a tirade of hateful comments.
According to authorities, the outburst included racial slurs, and video recorded inside the store captured part of what happened.
The video shows a man shouting at two women who were wearing hijabs, before other shoppers stepped in to try to intervene, officials said.
Police say the man then appeared to hit the person who was recording the incident, escalating the confrontation before it ended.
Halifax police said they are now working to identify and find the man, and the case is being treated as a hate-related incident as the investigation continues.
