An elderly couple in their 70s were killed in their home, and Peel police are searching for a suspect they describe as armed and dangerous. The deaths happened in the Port Credit neighbourhood of Mississauga, near Lakeshore, in the heart of the village. Officers kept onlookers a considerable distance from the large home as the investigation got underway.

According to police, officers were called to the home on Briarwood at about 7 p.m. last night. The call came in as a report of an assault. When officers arrived, they found a couple, both in their 70s, with life-threatening injuries.

Despite the efforts of first responders at the scene, the couple did not survive. Their deaths turned the call into a serious investigation for Peel police. The loss of two people in their own home added to the alarm in the community.

Police said the suspect is someone who was well known to the couple. Through their investigation, officers identified the suspect as the couple's son. They indicated that the suspect and the couple had been seen together many times before.

The suspect was identified by police as 46-year-old Jordan Sanguine. He was described as a white man with a slim build, standing about five feet ten inches tall. Police said that earlier in the day he had been wearing a blue shirt, checkered shorts, and a baseball cap.

Police said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous and shared a photograph of him with the public. They urged him to contact a lawyer and turn himself in. As a person being sought by police, he has not been convicted of anything and is presumed innocent unless a case is proven in court.

People in Port Credit described their shock at a killing in their community, with some saying the woman had worked in a local business for many years. The street near Lakeshore remained blocked off as officers worked the scene. Police continued to appeal to the community for help as the search for the suspect went on.
