Police in Scotland have launched a double murder investigation after two men were found dead in a flat in Glasgow.
The bodies were discovered on the first floor of a property on Chancellor Street on Sunday afternoon, after officers had to force entry by battering down the door.
Police Scotland has named the victims as Paul Lafferty, 50, and Gary Beaton, 54. Officers said the two men were known to each other.
Detectives say both men were stabbed and that a knife was used. Forensic teams have been searching the scene, including the pavements and trees nearby, for the weapon, and police would not confirm whether it has been recovered.
Investigators said it is not yet clear whether the killer or killers were known to the victims, and they could not say whether one person or several were responsible.
The two men were last seen, potentially on CCTV, at around 9am on Friday. Police have appealed for witnesses with any information about their movements that morning, before they were found dead on Sunday afternoon.
The case is being handled by Police Scotland's major investigation team, supported by officers from Glasgow Division and forensic services.
Officers described a double murder as unusual for a single investigation, saying a dedicated unit was now dealing with two homicides at once. The inquiry at the scene in Glasgow is continuing.
