Several former employees of a business in Westchester County say their wages have been withheld, leaving them out of pocket months after the work was done. According to a News 12 New York report, the complaints center on the Goodhouse Social Club in Mount Kisco, where staff describe a payroll problem that has dragged on since the start of the year.
The workers say the payroll issues at the club began back in January, when some of their paychecks bounced. What started as a missed or failed payment, they say, turned into a longer dispute over money they were counting on for hours they had already put in at the venue.
In online communications sent to News 12, the owner addressed the missing payments. He pointed out that there were other factors at play in the situation, while saying that he is working on getting the money back to those who are owed. The exact nature of those factors was not detailed in the report.
Despite that response, some workers told News 12 they are still owed money for work done between January 14th and Valentine's Day. For the staff involved, the unpaid stretch covers a specific period of shifts that they say has never been made right.
Asked how much is owed in total, one person estimated the figure at roughly $50,000 to $70,000. That estimate, they said, covers not only the club's employees but also the suppliers it works with, including flower reps, liquor reps and food reps tied to the business.
The club's current status reflects the strain. According to its website, the Goodhouse Social Club is temporarily closed for food service, though it remains open for private events. That split leaves the venue partially operating even as the questions over back pay remain unresolved.
News 12 said it is still waiting to hear back from the business owner for further comment on the workers' accounts. For now, the former employees are left waiting to see whether the money they say they are owed will ultimately be paid.
