Family seeks answers after worker killed in bakery crash

The family of 19-year-old Zion Branch is demanding answers after she died when a vehicle crashed into the Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery in Atascocita where she was working. Investigators say a 70-year-old man crashed into the bakery after accidentally pressing the gas pedal instead of the brake on June 30th. The family has retained civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who says witnesses have described a similar incident at the same strip mall and is raising questions about the driver and whether safety barriers could have prevented the crash.

The family of a 19-year-old woman is demanding answers after she died in a crash at the bakery where she was working in Atascocita, in the Houston area.

According to FOX 26, Zion Branch died on June 30th while working at the Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery when a vehicle crashed into the business.

Investigators say a 70-year-old man crashed into the bakery after he accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, sending his vehicle into the storefront.

The family has retained civil rights attorney Ben Crump to raise questions about the driver's actions that day and about whether safety barriers could have prevented the crash.

Crump said the family intends to press for answers, vowing to ask every question in Branch's memory as they seek accountability for what happened.

The attorney also said witnesses have come forward describing a similar incident at the same strip mall, and that the family is determined to help prevent something like it from happening again.
