The young woman who was killed when a vehicle crashed into a bakery in Atascocita, a community in the Houston area, on Tuesday afternoon has now been identified by the Harris County Sheriff's Office as 19-year-old Zion Branch. Her death has left the store's staff, her coworkers and the surrounding community in mourning.
The crash happened at a Nothing Bundt Cakes near the intersection of Westlake Houston Parkway and FM 1960. In the aftermath, the front entrance of the business was boarded up, and a growing memorial took shape outside as people came to pay their respects to the young woman who was killed there.
According to authorities, the vehicle was driven by an elderly man who had been planning to park in front of the business.
