Police in Bellevue, Washington, are appealing for the public's help after an attempted stabbing on a downtown Bellevue light rail platform. The incident took place on Sunday.
Investigators released surveillance footage in the hope of identifying witnesses. In it, a bald man is seen walking toward another man on the platform.
The situation quickly escalated. At one point, a person in a hooded sweatshirt pulls out a knife and gestures it toward the other man.
After the initial confrontation, the two continued to square up. A different camera angle shows the man in the hoodie drawing the knife a second time before running up an escalator.
Officers responded to the scene a short time later. According to police, they arrested the man with the knife shortly after arriving.
Despite the arrest, the investigation is not yet complete. Detectives say they still need more witnesses, and anyone who saw what happened or captured video of the incident, to come forward.
Police have asked members of the public with information to contact the department directly. Investigators believe additional accounts could help clarify exactly how the confrontation unfolded.
