A man has died after he was shot outside a liquor store in the Bronx, on what police described as a breaking-news scene they were still working late into the evening.
The shooting happened in the Parkchester section of the Bronx, near the intersection of Archer Street and White Plains Road, just outside a liquor store along the busy stretch.
According to police, the victim was still alive when officers first arrived at the scene. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries despite efforts to save him.
Officers remained at the liquor store into the night, investigating and gathering information as they tried to piece together what had led to the shooting on the Bronx corner.
As of the latest update, no arrests had been made, and police said they had not yet established a motive for the attack. The circumstances surrounding it remained unclear.
