A woman has been charged after police say she stabbed three teenage girls inside a Brooklyn Dollar Tree. Investigators identified the 44-year-old accused in the case as Viola Bouyer, who was taken into custody in connection with the violence at the store.
The incident unfolded last night at the Dollar Tree on Van Siclen Avenue in the East New York section of Brooklyn. What began inside the discount store quickly escalated into a knife attack that left three young victims injured.
According to police, the teenagers surrounded Bouyer in the store, harassing her and her children before the situation turned violent. Authorities described that confrontation as the lead-up to the stabbing.
Police say Bouyer then pulled out a knife. The most seriously hurt was a 13-year-old girl, who investigators say was stabbed several times in the abdomen during the attack.
Two other teenagers were also wounded. A 15-year-old girl was stabbed in the abdomen as well, while a 16-year-old was slashed on the arm, according to police.
In the aftermath, Bouyer was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The charges reflect both the injuries to the teenagers and the knife that authorities say was used in the store.
The case leaves three teenage girls injured after what police describe as a confrontation that ended in a knife attack inside a neighborhood store. Authorities laid out the account as the charges against Bouyer moved forward.
