Investigators with Harris County Constable Precinct 3 are looking into a violent attack in which a pregnant woman was stabbed at a home in northeast Harris County. The assault unfolded at a residence on Dona Lane, where deputies say the victim had gone after being invited over, only to be attacked and wounded before help arrived.
According to authorities, the two women were not strangers. The victim knew the suspect from church, and it was that connection that led her to accept an invitation to the home. What began as an ordinary visit between churchgoers turned into a dangerous confrontation once the victim was inside the house.
During the visit, the victim noticed that the other woman had hidden a knife. When the suspect reached for the weapon, a struggle broke out between the two. The suspect gained control of the knife and began stabbing the victim, who tried to defend herself as the attack continued.
The pregnant woman suffered stab wounds to her face, as well as to her arms and hands, injuries consistent with someone attempting to shield herself from a blade. Deputies responded to the scene and the victim was taken for medical treatment after the assault.
The suspect was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a pregnant person, a serious charge under Texas law that reflects the heightened danger posed to an expectant mother. The arrest was made in connection with the stabbing at the Dona Lane home.
What has drawn added attention to the case is the suspect's history. Deputies say she had previously been arrested in 2025 for assault on a pregnant person, but that those earlier charges were ultimately dismissed. The new allegation marks the second time she has been accused of harming a pregnant woman.
The investigation remains active as Precinct 3 works to piece together exactly what led to the confrontation inside the home. For now, authorities have confirmed the arrest and the aggravated assault charge, while the victim, who was expecting, recovers from wounds inflicted during the struggle over the knife.
