A fire in Hollywood, Florida, prompted an emergency response on Monday morning before it was brought under control. The blaze broke out off Interstate 95 near Hollywood Boulevard, and a large number of firefighters remained at the scene after knocking down the flames.
According to Hollywood Fire, a 70-year-old man was hurt when he tried to escape the flames by jumping from a balcony.
A mother and her two children suffered from smoke inhalation in the blaze, officials said.
In addition, three police officers were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
It remains unclear how the fire started. A fire inspector and the state fire marshal's office were called to the scene to investigate the cause.
Florida Power and Light was also reported to be at the scene as part of the emergency response off I-95 near Hollywood Boulevard.
