Houston father fatally stabbed at apartment complex, suspect sought

A 24-year-old father was fatally stabbed early Friday at the Wesley Square Apartments on Calhoun Road in southeast Houston, and police are searching for the woman they believe is responsible. According to Fox 26, three children were inside the apartment at the time, and the victim, a stay-at-home dad, had known the suspect since elementary school.

A deadly stabbing in southeast Houston has left a 24-year-old father dead, and investigators are searching for the woman they believe is responsible, Fox 26 reported. The killing happened at the Wesley Square Apartments on Calhoun Road, and police were called to the scene in the early hours of Friday morning as the search for the suspect got under way.

According to the Houston Police Department, the emergency call came in at around 2:30 in the morning. By the time crews arrived, the situation had already turned fatal, and officers began working to piece together what had happened inside one of the units at the apartment complex in the Southeast part of the city.

One detail that has drawn particular concern is that three children were inside the apartment at the time of the attack. The presence of the young children at the scene has added to the gravity of the case, even as the immediate police focus remains on tracking down the suspect still at large.

The victim was identified by his half-sister, who spoke off camera, as a man named Travis. She described him as a stay-at-home dad to a three-year-old child. According to her account, the female suspect had been arguing with Travis about being outside before she fatally stabbed him during the confrontation.

His half-sister also said that Travis and the suspect were not strangers, explaining that the two had known each other since elementary school. That long-standing connection adds another layer to an investigation that police say began with an altercation between a man and a woman at the complex.

Houston police confirmed that Travis was stabbed in his left side during the argument. Despite his injuries, he managed to make it about 100 yards away from his apartment, where neighbours attempted to render aid before help arrived. Houston Fire Department paramedics then rushed him to a local hospital.

It was at the hospital that Travis succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead. The Houston Police Department says it is still searching for the female suspect and is urging anyone with information to come forward and contact investigators as the homicide inquiry continues.
