A private event at Pacific Raceways in Kent ended in tragedy when a two-car crash left one person dead. According to the King County Sheriff's Office, one of the drivers involved in the collision died at the scene, turning what had been a gathering at the motorsports track into the site of a fatal incident.
The King County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened just after two o'clock in the afternoon the previous day. The collision took place during a private event at the Kent facility, and authorities were alerted to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the grounds of the raceway.
Sheriff's deputies and King County Fire both responded to the scene after the reports came in. The multi-agency response brought emergency crews to the track as they worked to reach those caught up in the crash and to assess how many people had been affected by the collision.
