A body matching the description of a missing 18-year-old has been recovered off the Mississippi coast, in what officials fear is a tragic ending to a days-long search. Wells vanished on the 4th of July after going on a boating trip with friends to Horn Island, a barrier island located about 10 miles off the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The island is a popular holiday destination, and the group had reportedly taken a boat trip out to it to mark the Independence Day holiday before something went wrong.
According to authorities, a body matching the description of the 18-year-old was recovered at around 8:45 on Monday morning, just off the shore of Horn Island.
