Two young men, a Penn State graduate and a former Penn State student, have been named as the leaders of a cocaine ring that operated among students, authorities say.
Investigators describe it as a major cocaine operation run through multiple Penn State fraternity houses.
Agostino Abbatiello, a Penn State graduate, has turned himself in to authorities. Officials say he and former student Thomas Robinson were the operation's alleged ringleaders.
According to police, the pair brought in kilos of cocaine at a time during 2023 and 2024, making trips to Philadelphia and New York City to refill their supply.
Officials said there was nothing junior or childlike about the conduct, describing it as an upper-level trafficking organization for the region in Pennsylvania.
The Delta Upsilon and Sigma Chi fraternity houses, both off campus, were used to package the drugs, according to authorities.
Investigators said the packaging was part of what they called a hazing ritual.
Cutting and bagging cocaine was, for some pledges, an indoctrination into the Delta Upsilon and Sigma Chi fraternities, authorities said.
