Seattle police are investigating a violent overnight stretch in which three separate shootings were reported across the city within the span of just a few hours. The incidents unfolded in neighborhoods south of downtown and left several people hospitalized, with detectives working the scenes independently as they try to piece together what happened at each location.
The first shooting was reported just after 10 o'clock at night off South Lander Street, close to the SoDo light rail station. According to authorities, one man was taken to the hospital following the gunfire. Investigators have not released his condition, and it remains unclear what led to the shooting in that busy transit area near the edge of downtown.
About three hours later, at around 1 in the morning, a second shooting was reported off Swift Avenue South near South Graham Street. Fire crews said they treated two people at that scene, both of them 18-year-old women. The pair were taken to the hospital, and one of them was described as being in serious condition, according to the information released by responders.
The third shooting happened just after 3 o'clock in the morning at 24th Avenue South and South Walker Street, in the Mount Baker neighborhood near a Taco Time restaurant. Police say one victim was found at the scene, though it was not immediately clear how that person was recovering as officers began collecting evidence and canvassing the area for witnesses.
Taken together, the three shootings unfolded over roughly a five-hour window and were spread across separate parts of the city, from the industrial corridor near SoDo to residential streets in and around Mount Baker. Police have treated each case as its own investigation, and so far no connection between the incidents has been made public.
Authorities have not released detailed descriptions of any suspects and have not confirmed the current conditions of all of the wounded. The Seattle Police Department is asking anyone with information about any of the shootings to come forward, as investigators continue to gather surveillance footage and speak with potential witnesses in each neighborhood.
