A 19-year-old man has been found dead inside an apartment building on Staten Island, and police are investigating the circumstances.
Officers found the 19-year-old with bruising and swelling on his wrists and ankles, as well as protruded ribs.
He was discovered unresponsive and unconscious inside the building on Elmwood Park Drive, in the Springville area of the borough.
Police were called just after 11 in the morning about an unconscious person at the location.
The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The discovery has raised questions about what was going on inside the apartment. Some residents said they were unaware that a 19-year-old was even living in the building.
