We built Avalw Browser around a simple question: what if your browser looked out for you, instead of just showing pages? This article explains how it works on each platform, feature by feature.
A browser that looks out for you
Avalw Browser is fast, private and smart by default. It blocks ads and trackers, keeps your passwords encrypted and cleans up after itself, without you having to change a single setting.
It is also part of the wider Avalw platform. Your start page brings stories from journalists, creators, founders, companies and academics on avalw.com, and searches go through Avalw's own search engine.
On Windows: a whole browser in a small orb
On Windows, Avalw Browser lives in a small floating orb at the edge of your screen. It stays on top of every app, every game and your whole desktop, so the web is always one click away.
Click the orb or press Alt + Space and a quick panel opens. From there you can search, open your favorite sites, jump to any open tab or read the news feed, then close it and get back to what you were doing.
You choose how it behaves. The orb can be small, medium or large, Avalw can start with Windows, and a full browser window is always there when you need more room.
Your world on every new tab, and its own search engine
Every new tab opens on your start page: a live news feed from your country, your favorite sites and the Avalw apps one click away. The feed refreshes on its own, so the stories are always current.
Avalw Browser also comes with its own search engine at avalw.org. Results bring together web pages, news, images and videos, next to profiles of the real people behind the stories.
When you search for a journalist or creator, you see who they are, how many articles they wrote, how many people read them and their latest stories, all in one place.
On iPhone and Android: skip the privacy screen
On your phone, Avalw Browser brings Stealth Screen. It uses the front camera to notice when someone next to you is looking at your screen, and hides your content in an instant. When they look away, you pick up where you left off.
Think of it as a privacy filter without the filter. No film on your screen, no dimmed colors, just a browser that knows when your screen should be only for your eyes.
Music that never stops
With Stellar Mode, music and videos keep playing when you leave the app. Play a game, open another app or lock your screen, and your playlist, podcast or video keeps going in the background.
On Android, playback can continue in a small floating bubble, so you can keep watching while you do something else.
Private and clean by default
The built-in blocker stops ads and trackers across the web. Live stats show how many were blocked today and this week, and a whitelist and blacklist give you full control over each site.
A note on transparency. The blocker works on every website, with one exception: Avalw's own platforms, such as avalw.com and the Avalw apps, are on the whitelist by default. Avalw Browser is free, with no subscription and no paid tier, and the ads on our own platforms are what keep it that way. They help us pay for development, servers and the creators who publish with us. We believe in being clear about this, so you always know how the product you use is funded.
Your passwords are saved encrypted, your browsing history can be locked with its own password, and history can delete itself after a time you choose. Clearing everything takes one tap.
Avalw also keeps itself light. The cache clears automatically on a schedule you choose, with a size limit you set, so pages open fast and your device keeps its space.
Make it yours, and find any tab
Avalw is built to look the way you like. Choose gradients and AMOLED colors, set a wallpaper, and change buttons, fonts and styles, in light or dark mode.
Tabs stay organized too. They are grouped automatically by window, and tab search finds any open tab in a second, even when you have dozens open.
A news reader built in
Articles open in a clean, distraction-free reader. You see the reading time up front, change the font, text size and spacing, and save or share any story in one tap.
Saved stories wait for you in your library, so a great read is never lost between devices.
See it on you first, with AI
On iPhone, Avalw Browser can show you how clothes look on you before you buy. Upload one photo and try on dresses, coats and full outfits with AI, using real products from real stores.
